Hello Stranger! It’s a pleasure to sort-of meet you (blogpost humor). My name is Keenrruy Santiago Murillo (Pronounced Kenry), and I am a 20 year old Latinx (He\/Him) Computer Science student at the time of writing this. Born in New York and having lived my entire life in the beautiful town of Louisville, Kentucky; My mother and father immigrated here from Ecuador’s Quito and Santa Rosa respectively. You could say I am no stranger to code-switching and new environments.<\/p>\n\n\n

For the majority of my life, I have been hard focused on my studies, with the idea that I would pursue Mathematics but quickly found that the technology that allowed me entertaining and productive escapisms would truly be my passion. For me, it began with a curiosity of the mending hardware and software of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System; then continued into hours behind an underpowered MacBook laptop during the 2 years I lived in Ecuador. From DuPont Manual High School’s MST track to the University of Louisville’s Speed School of Engineering, I have been determined to earn a Bachelors of Arts in Computer Science and cultivate a respectable as well as challenging career path far before I ever arrived on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n

Why? It’s interesting, that’s literally it. An entire constantly developing world that lends itself to so many aspects of what I enjoy. An area where I can say I don’t know what I want to specify in and find comfort in knowing everything going forward is a useful, applicable, learning experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A book I always enjoyed when told to write a report, and a quote that always stuck with me. No matter our obstacles, while we exist, we will prevail and come out on top is how I always understood it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
